Prophecy Sign: Increased Knowledge - Genetic Manipulation
We know we are getting real close to the end. How so?? Because mankind is starting to mess with the creation of God on a genetic level. To the point where mankind is looking to create human/animal chimeras. Something like this happen before the great flood of Noah, and if we recall, it didn't end well for the denizens of earth at that time, (Genesis 6).
But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge. Daniel 12:4 NIV
The Genetic Tool That Will Modify Humanity
Genetic engineering, which for decades never quite lived up to its promise, is being transformed thanks to a new tool called Crispr. Scientists can use it to manipulate the genes of any living creature with astonishing ease. Its initial applications have been to target genetic disease, modify foods, and develop new drugs. What comes next is up to us.
Genetic engineering is a foundational science—on par with electricity, antibiotics, rocketry, and the Internet. When scientists get their hands on new tools such as these, especially ones with clear consumer applications, the transformation from science fiction to everyday reality can happen in an instant.
Genetic engineering of humans has great potential, says Nobel winner
The genetic engineering of humans has great potential to help those destined to inherit serious, incurable diseases, according to one of Britain’s most prominent scientists, who says the risks and benefits should be debated by society.
British scientist can genetically modify human embryos, ethics committee says
A British scientist will be able to genetically modify human embryos after being given the go ahead from an ethics committee. Dr Kathy Niakan, of the Francis Crick Institute, will begin preparatory work on the programme following the decision by the Cambridge Central Research Ethics Committee. Dr Niakan will now be allowed to use a gene editing technique on surplus embryos that have been donated by consenting patients undergoing fertility treatment.
The Quest For Human/Animal Chimeras
The worry is that human cells may create chimeras that are intelligent or even sentient. Though the likelihood of this happening is small, as domestic animal and human brains differ vastly in terms of complexity, it is still an as-of-yet untested scientific endeavor; though many chimera fetuses have been created, researchers have yet to allow any of them to come to term.
