Prophecy Sign: Pestilence, plagues and disease
So, don't these folks over at places such as DARPA watch any of these end of the world pandemic movies, (World War Z, I am Legend, etc)? All these movies have one common theme; Scientists attempt to modify some sort of deadly virus which only makes the darn thing even more deadly as the resulting modification spreads globally wiping out most of the population.
Well I guess not, as DARPA is going to attempt to produce self reproducing vaccine that can evolve quickly into another form. Meanwhile, antibiotic resistance, (you know, those things that help fight disease), has become a major threat to the world. All this has the makings of something very biblical; That being a series of plagues, (pandemics), that takes many millions of lives during the coming Tribulation.
I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth. Revelation 6:8 NIV
DARPA is investigating self-mutating vaccines to take down viruses
Viruses, by their very nature, are really tricky to deal with. We find a solution, they evolve, and suddenly our solution no longer works. Flu is a typical example of this, which is why the vaccine is refreshed each year at great expense. But flu is among the least of our viral problems; Zika, Ebola and Dengue are far more of a risk. How do you begin to deal with viruses that mutate quicker than we can provide vaccines or antivirals? DARPA, the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, thinks the solution may be playing the enemy at its own game, and making vaccines that reproduce and evolve faster than the viruses they target.
Antibiotic resistance 'could become bigger threat to mankind than cancer'
Resistance to antibiotics will become "an even greater threat to mankind than cancer" without global action, Chancellor George Osborne will warn today. The latest evidence suggests 10 million people a year could die globally by 2050, as a result of antibiotics becoming powerless against common infections - more than currently die from cancer, he will say.
Yellow fever outbreak in Angola is 'threat to entire world'
An outbreak of yellow fever in Angola in which hundreds have already died could be "a threat to the entire world", the World Health Organisation has warned. Cases of the mosquito-borne virus were first reported in Angola's capital Luanda in December. The disease has now spread to 16 of the country's 18 provinces.
