I visited a church that wants to conquer death

Prophecy Sign:  Increased knowledge

The video below features well know bible prophecy watcher, Tom Horn, who discusses the exponential growth in the genetic/cybernetic/transhuman revolution, and where it just might lead the world.  The movement seems bent on conquering death through scientific means.  The bible seems to allude to something just like that occurring in the time of the Tribulation.  Of course, with anything man tries to do that should only be left in the hands of God, things get messy.

During those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them. Revelation 9:6 NIV

I visited a church that wants to conquer death
Many people think of transhumanism — the belief that humans can evolve through science and tech — as a secular movement. For the most part it is, but there are a number of organizations that aim to combine science and spirituality together. One of the largest is the Church of Perpetual Life,a brick and mortar worship center near Miami, Florida that looks like any other church. It has a minister, a congregation, and church activities. The only difference is this church wants to use science to conquer death.

Intelligence project aims to reverse engineer the brain to find algorithms that allow computers to think more like humans
Now the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA), a research organization for the intelligence community modeled after the defense department’s famed DARPA, has dedicated $100 million to a similarly ambitious project. The Machine Intelligence from Cortical Networks program, or MICrONS, aims to reverse-engineer one cubic millimeter of the brain, study the way it makes computations, and use those findings to better inform algorithms in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
