Is technology causing us to 'evolve' into a new SPECIES?

Prophecy Sign:  The increase in knowledge - Genetic alteration/manipulation

What a time we live in, where genetics are making it possible to mix species and create new chimeras. Where we can genetically alter the human species into something completely outside the creation of God.  And even the Pope is good with this as he apparently gave his blessing to such shenanigans.  Will God allow this to go on much further?  Perhaps long enough for mankind to come up with some sort of altered human existence that will be unable to die, and where death eludes.

During those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them. Revelation 9:6 NIV

Is technology causing us to 'evolve' into a new SPECIES? Expert believes super humans called Homo optimus will talk to machines and be 'digitally immortal' by 2050
If you're under the age of 40, there is a good chance you will achieve 'electronic immortality' during your lifetime. This is the idea that all of your thoughts and experiences will be uploaded and stored online for future generations. That's according to a futurologist who not only believes technology will let humans merge with computers, that this will create an entirely new species called Homo optimus. And, he claims this could occur as soon as 2050. The predictions were made by Dr Ian Pearson as part of the lead up to The Big Bang Fair 2016. He believes that within the next 35 years, humans will 'live' online, and our pets could even 'talk' to us, like real-life Furbies. He also claims transhumanism – the idea we can make people technologically better – will be the norm by 2050.

Pope Francis Said to Bless Human-Animal Chimeras
A Spanish scientist working at the Salk Institute in California told Scientific American that Pope Francis personally blessed his cutting-edge research to mix human cells into animal bodies. Juan Carlos Izpisua Belmonte, a prominent stem-cell biologist, is engaged in efforts to grow human tissue inside of farm animals such as pigs, sheep, and cows. This type of research is sensitive because scientists have to inject human stem cells into early-stage animal embryos, then try to grow the mixtures inside surrogate animals.

Genetic editing is like playing God – and what’s wrong with that?
The announcement that scientists are to be allowed to edit the DNA of human embryos will no doubt provoke an avalanche of warnings from opponents of genetic modification (GM) technology, who will warn that we are “playing God” with our genes. The opponents are right. We are indeed playing God with our genes. But it is a good thing because God, nature or whatever we want to call the agencies that have made us, often get it wrong and it’s up to us to correct those mistakes.
