First genetically-modified human embryos 'could be created in Britain within weeks'

Prophecy Sign:  Increased knowledge - Genetic alteration

Genetic alteration/manipulation would seem to be the line in the sand that God will not stand for before administering swift judgement.  The extra biblical book of Jasher, (among others, including the book of Enoch), points out that strange things were happening in the pre-flood world as genetic manipulation ran rampant, thus nearly corrupting all flesh, (save Noah and family).  Jesus said the same thing would happen again just prior to his return to earth.

As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Matthew 24:7 NIV

And why does mankind want to play around in such manner?  In order to become like God, (article below).

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown. Genesis 6:4 NIV

From the extra biblical book of Jasher:
And their judges and rulers went to the daughters of men and took their wives by force from their husbands according to their choice, and the sons of men in those days took from the cattle of the earth, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the air, and taught the mixture of animals of one species with the other, in order therewith to provoke the Lord; and God saw the whole earth and it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted its ways upon earth, all men and all animals. Jasher 4:18

First genetically-modified human embryos 'could be created in Britain within weeks'
The first genetically-modified human embryos could be created in Britain within weeks according to the scientists who are about to learn whether their research proposal has been approved by the fertility watchdog. Although it will be illegal to allow the embryos to live beyond 14 days, and be implanted into the womb, the researchers accepted that the research could one day lead to the birth of the first GM babies should the existing ban be lifted for medical reasons. A license application to edit the genes of “spare” IVF embryos for research purposes only is to be discussed on 14 January by the Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority (HFEA), with final approval likely to be given this month.

Human-Animal Chimeras Are Gestating on U.S. Research Farms
Braving a funding ban put in place by America’s top health agency, some U.S. research centers are moving ahead with attempts to grow human tissue inside pigs and sheep with the goal of creating hearts, livers, or other organs needed for transplants. The effort to incubate organs in farm animals is ethically charged because it involves adding human cells to animal embryos in ways that could blur the line between species. Last September, in a reversal of earlier policy, the National Institutes of Health announced it would not support studies involving such “human-animal chimeras” until it had reviewed the scientific and social implications more closely. The agency, in a statement, said it was worried about the chance that animals’ “cognitive state” could be altered if they ended up with human brain cells.

The intersection of tech and church
It’s not a church — no liturgy here. Rather, it resembles something more like a tech organization, driven by fervent conferences full of futuristic discussions and an active online community where members connect over their shared beliefs; they’ve also got ambitions of advocating for life-extension research, providing stem-cell banking and even cryonics services for members. (Cannon notes that some of those conferences might include speeches of a sermon-esque nature, right alongside the academic spiels.) When he does preach — or more like philosophically pontificate — Cannon speaks of how we should become as God. Become one with God, in fact. And how technology will get us there.
