Iran and Russia use nuclear deal to boost military ties

Prophecy Sign:  The Gog/Magog alliance

There is debate among prophecy scholars as to just which present day nation will head up the Gog/Magog alliance of nations.  Some say Turkey while others contend Russia.  If Russia is not the nation encompassing the areas of ancient Meshek and Tubal, but rather Turkey is, there is still the very good possibility that Russia will still have her fingers in the pie as a key supplier of arms and military equipment to the enemies of Israel, (as Russia has always been in  each of the other wars fought against Israel since the creation of the Jewish state).

Son of man, prophesy against Gog and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshek and Tubal.  I will turn you around and drag you along. I will bring you from the far north and send you against the mountains of Israel.  Then I will strike your bow from your left hand and make your arrows drop from your right hand. Ezekiel 39:1-3 NIV

Iran and Russia use nuclear deal to boost military ties
Monday’s meeting between Russian and Iranian foreign ministers is fueling new speculation both countries are forging closer ties after July’s nuclear agreement. Fox News National Security Analyst KT McFarland spoke to foreign policy experts John Hannah and Anna Borshchevskaya about Iran’s evolving relationship with Russia. “We’ve seen the warming of Russian-Iranian relations ties for several years now … now that we have a new deal, they are simply profiting from it,” said Borshchevskaya, a fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. A boost in military and political cooperation has U.S. officials and their overseas counterparts closely monitoring any significant changes in the Middle East from Russia or Iran.

Israeli Think Tank Says Iranian Desire to Destroy Jewish State is Part of Regime’s ‘Founding Vision’
Israeli think tank, the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, published a report on Sunday that extensively details Iran’s threats to destroy Israel. In the report, the author, Lt. Col. (ret.) Michael Segall, calls Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei the “chief agitator for the extermination of Israel.” He says this position is a continuation of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini’s “founding vision” that “the eradication of Zionism is an inevitable precondition for redeeming contemporary Islam.” According to the report, this fight to destroy the Jewish state has been an axiomatic directive of the Islamic Republic of Iran from the founding of the theocracy in 1979, which could never be “questioned or strayed from,” and was an “objective to be perpetually and actively pursued.”
