How Putin is priming Russia for nuclear stand-off with the West

Prophecy Sign:  Rumors of War

The Russian leadership mindset seems to be somewhat different now as compared to the old Soviet Empire when it comes to first strike nuclear attacks.  The present day Putin Administration would seem to be all for it, (according to the articles below), if it meant the protection of the motherland and her cubs. Now that's a very scary thought to ponder.

Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword. Revelation 6:4 NIV

How Putin is priming Russia for nuclear stand-off with the West
Earlier this month, as fighting raged in eastern Ukraine between pro-Russian rebels and forces loyal to the Western-backed government in Kyiv, Dmitry Kiselyov, the pugnacious, middle-aged journalist who heads Russia’s main state news agency, gazed defiantly into a TV studio camera. “What is Russia preparing for?” he asked. As if in reply, the director cut to an ominous backdrop image of an intercontinental ballistic missile emerging from an underground launch silo.
“During the era of political romanticism, the Soviet Union pledged never to use nuclear weapons first,” Kiselyov told the audience of Vesti Nedeli, his current affairs show, one of the country’s most widely watched programs. “But Russia’s current military doctrine does not.” He paused briefly for effect. “No more illusions.”

Russian Nuclear Missile Forces Conduct Large-Scale Exercises Across Country
Russia’s nuclear missile force staged large-scale exercises across the vast country Thursday consisting of drills to combat sabotage and chemical weapons attacks. More than 30 regiments of the Strategic Missile Forces were involved in 12 regions, according to Itar-Tass, a Russian news agency close to the government.
“According to the drill scenario, simulated enemy’s sabotage groups planted mines on the combat patrolling route sections and used toxic agents in the field. Engineer troops, radiological, chemical and biological defense forces, as well as anti-sabotage units have been engaged in the exercises,” said Defense Ministry spokesman Col. Igor Yegorov. Russia’s Strategic Missile Forces plan to test-fire their new Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile in 2017. The Sarmat would replace the Cold War-era R-36 missile, nicknamed “Satan” by NATO, which is the largest ICBM ever made.

Peace deal goes up in smoke: Ukrainian forces and pro-Russian rebels show no sign of abiding by agreement as fighting rages around key town
Ukraine is accusing Russian-backed rebels of destroying their ceasefire agreement by seizing the town Vladimir Putin wanted them to capture. Pro-Moscow separatists claim to have captured 80 per cent of Debaltseve and to have taken at least 300 government soldiers prisoner as fierce fighting raged in the eastern Ukrainian town yesterday. Eyewitnesses said artillery rounds were hitting the town every five seconds and smoke rose skywards as unguided Grad rockets landed.
