End-of-life debate turns to newborns

Prophecy Sign:  Good will be evil, and evil will become good

The increase in wickedness is beyond the pale as the wicked preach their unfettered notions of abortion being good for mankind; termination of the elderly and the newborn are the right things to do; all the while mocking the precepts of a Holy God.

Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. Matthew 24:12-13 NIV

End-of-life debate turns to newborns: ‘Postnatal abortion’ morally acceptable in some cases, ethicist says
Doctors would be justified to end the lives of some terminally impaired newborn babies, says a prominent Canadian bioethicist in a report that pushes the country’s euthanasia debate into provocative new territory. Much of the discussion of physician assisted-death in Canada has centred around adult patients capable of making known how they want to end their lives. But Udo Schuklenk, a Queen’s University philosophy professor, argues that in rare cases of severely impaired, deeply suffering newborns, actively causing death is morally acceptable, if still illegal in this country. “The parents should be able to freely decide on what would amount to postnatal abortion,” he argues in a paper just published in theJournal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.

Obamacare Architect Jonathan Gruber: Abortion of ‘Marginal Children” a ‘ Social Good’
Embattled MIT professor Jonathan Gruber has not only gotten in trouble for bragging about helping President Obama put one over on the American people with Obamacare, he’s also been uncovered as an abortion advocate—but not a run-of-the-mill advocate of “women’s rights.” No, Gruber’s abortion advocacy is of a particularly pungent eugenics variety. He’s on record repeatedly making the case from social science that abortion is a “social good” because it reduces the number of “marginal children,” by which he means urban poor—those he says can be counted on to commit crimes if they were ever born. Gruber co-authored a paper during the Clinton years which argued that legal abortion had saved the U.S. taxpayer upwards of $14 billion in welfare benefits and that it also lowered crime.

Doctor-Prescribed Suicide May Become Reality in Georgia
Georgia Right to Life (GRTL) Director of Bioethics, Bethany Walker, said today she is deeply concerned about a push to adopt a doctor-prescribed suicide law in Georgia. "Georgia is overwhelmingly pro-life," Walker said. "And that support includes protecting the elderly, disabled and terminally ill, as well as pre-born children.  "Communicating to those that receive a negative diagnosis that dying with dignity means suicide forces a wrongful burden on the patient to seek suicide rather than healing or care while clearly going against the will of most Georgians." As evidence, Walker noted that the Georgia Legislature successfully passed an anti-assisted suicide law in 2012. Walker made the announcement in response to a report that a group called "Compassion and Choices," formerly the Hemlock Society, plans to introduce so-called "death with dignity" legislation in Georgia in 2015.
