Russia Sends More Convoys Into Ukraine as Cease-Fire Collapses

Prophecy Sign:  Rumors of War

What's up with Vladimir Putin and the Russians these days?  Not a day goes when yet another report surfaces telling us the the Russians are busily preparing for something or engaging in more provocative moves which will only stir up yet more unsettled nerves.  Seems the Russians have a new toy with which they completely shut down the vaunted Aegis defence system which protects American warships, (that should cause some concern at the Pentagon don't you think?), and the Russians are also sending more convoys towards Ukraine.   Rumors of War!!

When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Mark 13:7 NIV

Russia Sends More Convoys Into Ukraine as Cease-Fire Collapses
Russian officials announced on Wednesday plans to send a seventh convoy across the border into Ukraine’s war-torn Donbas region, amid widespread accusations that the Kremlin is sending arms to separatist forces instead of aid to civilians. The announcement follows reports from the Organization for Security and Cooperation (OSCE) that 43 unmarked green military trucks were spotted heading toward the rebel stronghold of Donetsk on Tuesday. “Five of the trucks were each towing 120mm howitzer artillery pieces. Another five were each towing partly-covered multi-launch rocket systems,” read a statement released by the OSCE.

Advisor to SBU chief: There are all signs that Russia is preparing for active hostilities
An advisor to the chief of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Markiyan Lubkivsky, has said that Russia is trying to block Mariupol from the sea and is preparing for active hostilities. "Today we see and document a buildup in Russia's military presence in the temporarily occupied territories, troops are being redeployed, and positions are being fortified. There are all symptoms that Russia... is planning or preparing for active hostilities," he said on the Shuster Live program late on Wednesday.

Russian bomber patrols to reach Gulf of Mexico
In a show of military muscle amid tensions with the West, Russia will send long-range strategic bombers on regular patrol missions across the globe, from the Arctic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico, a top official said Wednesday. The announcement by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu came as NATO's chief accused Russia of sending fresh troops and tanks into eastern Ukraine. "Over the last few days, we have seen multiple reports of large convoys moving into Eastern Ukraine," said NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg. "We assess that this significant military buildup includes Russian artillery, tanks, air defense systems and troops. His statement called the situation a "severe threat to the cease-fire."

Australia Monitoring Heavily-Armed Russian Warships Nearing Its Northern Shores Ahead Of G20 Summit
Australia said Wednesday that it is constantly monitoring a convoy of four heavily-armed Russian warships, including at least one powerful missile cruiser, that are approaching its waters to the country’s north. According to the Australian Defence Force, or ADF, the Russian vessels are currently sailing in international waters. Australia has deployed two frigates and a surveillance aircraft to track the warships, which reportedly include a missile cruiser, a destroyer, a tug boat and a refueller. According to some analysts, the warships are heading toward Australia in a show of strength from Russian President Vladimir Putin, ahead of the G20 summit in Brisbane, BBC News reported.

What frightened the USS Donald Cook so much in the Black Sea?
Meanwhile, the Russian Su-24 that buzzed the USS Donald Cook carried neither bombs nor missiles but only a basket mounted under the fuselage, which, according to the Russian newspaper Rossiyskaya Gazeta, contained a Russian electronic warfare device called Khibiny. As the Russian jet approached the US vessel, the electronic device disabled all radars, control circuits, systems, information transmission, etc. on board the US destroyer. In other words, the all-powerful Aegis system, now hooked up - or about to be - with the defense systems installed on NATO’s most modern ships was shut down, as turning off the TV set with the remote control. The Russian Su-24 then simulated a missile attack against the USS Donald Cook, which was left literally deaf and blind. As if carrying out a training exercise, the Russian aircraft - unarmed - repeated the same maneuver 12 times before flying away.
