NATO Claims Russia Gathered 20,000 Troops on Ukraine Border

Prophecy Sign:  Rumors of War

Is Russia on the verge of a large scale invasion of Ukraine?  Will there be any consequential response from the West if Russia does invade? Is this scenario what the bible refers to as wars and rumors of wars in the last days?

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Matthew 24:6 NIV

NATO Claims Russia Gathered 20,000 Troops on Ukraine Border
NATO Deputy Secretary-General Alexander Vershbow said Tuesday Russia had beefed up its troops along its border with Ukraine by some 20,000 soldiers.
“Russia broke intl law w/ [with] no justification, invaded #Ukraine, backs separatists, now has +/-20,000 troops on Ukraine’s E. border,” Vershbow wrote on his Twitter page.
NATO has never looked for pretext to stir tensions with Russia, the deputy secretary-general added in another message.
“For +20yrs we’ve worked to build coop w/Russia,” Vershbow said.

Russia Prepares Large-Scale Invasion: “Battle-ready Force of Infantry, Armor, Artillery, and Air Defense”
A massive buildup on the Ukrainian border in the last 48 hours has seen Russia double its troop levels with 17 additional battalions and has left Western leaders trying to figure out what President Vladimir Putin is planning to do next. On Tuesday the Russian President called for an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council to resolve the “humanitarian crisis” in Ukraine that has reportedly left tens of thousands of people displaced because of fighting over the last several months, a move that some in the West see as prelude to a Russian invasion of Ukraine. It should be clear exactly what Vladimir Putin is thinking. He’s thinking he can send his troops over the border and no one in Europe or the United States will have the will or fortitude to stop it. And, given the foreign policy failures of the United States over the last five years, he’s probably right.

Ukrainian troops move in on Donetsk as Polish PM warns of Russian incursion
Air strikes and artillery fire between pro-Russian separatists and Ukrainian troops in the eastern city of Donetsk have brought the violence closer than ever to the city center, as Kiev's forces move in on the rebel stronghold. With Ukrainian troops encircling Donetsk, Western leaders have accused Russia of building up forces along the border in what some fear may preface an intervention. On Wednesday, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said he believed that the "the threat of a direct intervention (by Russia) is definitely greater than it was a few days ago, or two weeks ago."
