Prophecy Sign: Increase in knowledge, (and as it was in the days of Noah)
Knowledge has now increased to the levels necessary to allow mankind to once again manipulate the human genome; Just as in the days of Noah when the fallen angels played havoc with God's creation, (Genesis 6). This genetic manipulation may in fact become part of the future "mark of the Beast", and may explain why mankind is fervently warned by Angels during the Tribulation not to take the mark. To do so would make the recipient no longer the creation of God, but a hybrid mix of human and something else, thus unredeemable and destined to eternal damnation.
A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: "If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives its mark on their forehead or on their hand, they, too, will drink the wine of God's fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath. They will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. Revelation 14:9-10 NIV
Genetically Engineering Almost Anything
Today, researchers aren't just dropping in new genes, they’re deftly adding, subtracting, and rewriting them using a series of tools that have become ever more versatile and easier to use. In the last few years, our ability to edit genomes has improved at a shockingly rapid clip. So rapid, in fact, that one of the easiest and most popular tools, known as CRISPR-Cas9, is just two years old. Researchers once spent months, even years, attempting to rewrite an organism’s DNA. Now they spend days.
Cas9-based gene drives could be one of the most powerful technologies ever discovered by humankind. “This is one of the most exciting confluences of different theoretical approaches in science I’ve ever seen,” says Arthur Caplan, a bioethicist at New York University. “It merges population genetics, genetic engineering, molecular genetics, into an unbelievably powerful tool.”
A nation duped? UK govt. paves way for GM babies
Britain’s government has allegedly misled the public with respect to a newly developed invitro fertilisation (IVF) procedure that experts claim will lead to the birth of “genetically modified babies.” A group of prominent scientists, including Lord Winston - a long-standing expert in fertility treatment, have criticized Britain’s Department of Health for attempting to furtively introduce a new IVF technique that will allow the DNA of future generations to be manipulated. The British government has attempted to redefine the term “genetic modification” (GM) to include a controversial new method that will culminate in babies inheriting their genetic make-up from three separate individuals, the scientists say.
