The Rise of Anti-Christianity in the West

Prophecy Sign:  Rising Christian persecution globally

Satan hates both the Jews and Christians as they are God's representatives on earth.  Thus we should expect to see hatred for both groups continue to grow as Satan's influence over the world increases.

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33 NIV

The Rise of Anti-Christianity in the West
"There is now a serious risk that Christianity will disappear from its biblical heartlands," said a report by think-tank Civitas about persecution of Christians in the Middle East. Ample evidence suggests there are those who would like Christianity to vanish from the West as well. The Civitas report was titled "Christianophobia." It "highlights a fear among oppressive regimes that Christianity is a 'Western creed' which can be used to undermine them," according to a report in the LondonTelegraph. A "Western creed"? The contemporary "Western creed" is post-Christian and increasingly even anti-Christian.

Sudanese Muslim woman sentenced to death for Christian conversion
A 27-year-old woman in Sudan has been sentenced to death for converting to Christianity from Islam, sparking protests in a country already hit with social strife. Mariam Yahya Ibrahim had been ordered to give up her newly-adopted Christian faith by Thursday and return to Islam. Judge Abbas Khalifa asked Ibrahim whether she agreed to return to Islam. After she said, "I am a Christian," a charge of apostasy was declared and the death sentence was handed down, according to judicial sources, quoted by Reuters. "We gave you three days to recant, but you insist on not returning to Islam. I sentence you to be hanged to death," the judge told the woman, AFP reported. The woman had also been charged with adultery for marrying a Christian man.

Will the UN Criminalize the Pro-Life Movement as 'Torture'?
Last week, questioners on the United Nations Committee Against Torture called pro-life speech “torture.” This move is part of a broader push by the radical abortion lobby to essentially criminalize the pro-life movement. The Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR), an extremist international abortion syndicate that is spearheading the anti-life push, sent a letter last month to the U.N. body on torture claiming that church leaders in the pro-life movement have “perpetuated torture” by taking a stand against abortion. In a deadly irony, an organization that promotes the indiscriminant slaughter of defenseless babies is urging the U.N. to view those who promote life as committing torture. While specifically aimed at the Catholic Church, the vile assertions could affect all Christians and the pro-life movement as a whole.
