Study: ‘Small’ Nuclear War Would Destroy The World

Prophecy Sign:  Perilous times and nuclear war

Bible prophecy does seem to allude to nuclear war and the use of nuclear weapons during the Tribulation. Fire devouring everything in sight, while the flesh of the armies that fight against Israel melts and rots away while still standing.  Seems very descriptive of what may occur as a nuclear weapon explodes overhead.

Some would say that God can easily call down his own fire to destroy what he may, which is very true. But it would seem also that God might also allow the evil things that man has created in the name of war, (weapons of mass destruction), to come back to haunt mankind at the end of time.

This is the plague with which the LORD will strike all the nations that fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh will rot while they are still standing on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths. Zechariah 14:12 NIV

Before them fire devours, behind them a flame blazes. Before them the land is like the garden of Eden, behind them, a desert waste-- nothing escapes them. Joel 2:3 NIV

Study: ‘Small’ Nuclear War Would Destroy The World
With an estimated 17,000 nuclear weapons in the world, we have the power to exterminate humanity many times over. But it wouldn’t take a full-scale nuclear war to make Earth uninhabitable, reports Live Science. Even a relatively small regional nuclear war, like a conflict between India and Pakistan, could spark a global environmental catastrophe, says a new study. “Most people would be surprised to know that even a very small regional nuclear war on the other side of the planet could disrupt global climate for at least a decade and wipe out the ozone layer for a decade,” said lead author Michael Mills, an atmospheric scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Colorado.

China to have nuclear missiles on subs soon: US admiral
China for the first time will likely have subs equipped with long-range nuclear missiles later this year, part of an increasingly potent submarine fleet, a top US officer said Tuesday, The head of US Pacific Command, Admiral Samuel Locklear, said the latest class of Chinese subs would be armed with a new ballistic missile with an estimated range of 4,000 nautical miles (7,500 kilometers). "This will give China its first credible sea-based nuclear deterrent, probably before the end of 2014," Locklear told the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Obama: I'm Concerned About a Nuke Being Detonated in Manhattan
Speaking at a brief news conference in the Hague, President Obama said he's more worried about a nuke being detonated in Manhattan than he is about Russia:
"Russia's actions are a problem. They don't pose the number one national security threat to the United States. I continue to be much more concerned when it comes to our security with the prospect of a nuclear weapon going off in Manhattan," said Obama.
