Fukushima plant out of control: radioactive cesium could reach US by April

Prophecy Sign:  Perilous times and fearful events

Damaged reactor at Fukushima
The current situation at the crippled Fukushima nuclear reactor may be described as very nasty but perhaps not of biblical proportions......just yet! On the other hand, should something go horribly wrong in the clean-up or another earthquake rattles the reactor, then "all bets are off" as they say.  Major spills of radiation into the Pacific would do much damage to aquatic life, including fish stocks used for food. Even now some reports suggest that radiation is already starting to wash up on North American shores.

There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven. Luke 21:11 NIV

Fukushima plant out of control: radioactive cesium could reach US by April
Tepco together with the Japanese government assured that the catastrophe of Fukushima wasn’t another Chernobyl. The fact is that this situation seems to be worse than Chernobyl. The Chernobyl reactors were not situated by the sea or ocean and it was buried under a cement sarcophagus. Daiichi reactors are still releasing radiation into the air ad into the waters of the Pacific Ocean.  Being a key-partner of Japan, the US provided humanitarian and logistics help immediately after the catastrophe. Back then, US experts became worried about the possible effect it could have on the West Coast of the US. In the very beginning, scattered reports stated higher-than-normal radiation in the air and grasses and cows milk of Western North America, but then they settled down. Governmental organizations hardly comment on the issue. However, the San Francisco Chronicle provided an updated data of the expectation of radiation levels, stating that "radiation from the Fukushima nuclear disaster has not yet reached ocean waters along the Pacific coast, but low levels of radioactive cesium from the stricken Japanese power plant could arrive by April",according to scientists's report released Monday.
