New round of peace talks set for next week

Prophecy Sign:  The future seven year peace/covenant

More negotiations are on the agenda as the Palestinians and the Israelis continue to attempt to hammer out a peace agreement. (The Americans may even try to "force" and agreement between the two groups if all else fails).  Will this agreement have anything to do with the seven year covenant that Daniel the Prophet wrote about?  That remains to be seen.  In the meanwhile, according to the video below, the creation of a new Palestinian state could lead to an indefensible Israel if the Israelis agree to withdrawing back to the 1949 lines of demarcation.

He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' In the middle of the 'seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him. Daniel 9:27 NIV

New round of peace talks set for next week
Further Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations are set to be held next week, Israel Radio reported Friday. The new round of talks follow Israel’s release late Tuesday of 26 long-time Palestinian prisoners — all convicted murderers — in the second phase of four such releases, agreed as part of the framework for the negotiations. The ongoing negotiations will coincide with a visit to the region by US Secretary of State John Kerry. “In Jerusalem and Bethlehem, [Kerry] will meet with senior Israeli and Palestinian officials to discuss the ongoing final status negotiations as well as other regional issues of mutual concern. He will also discuss issues related to Iran with Israeli officials,” US State Department Spokeswoman Jen Psaki said in a press statement Thursday.

US 'Will Force' Israel-PA Deal
The United States intends to try and force a peace agreement on Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA), IDF Radio reported Monday. The radio station says the US has informed Israel and the Palestinian Authority that if negotiations between them do not advance, Washington will propose its own solution, that will include a US position on every point that is in contention. In effect, according to the report, this will be an attempt to force the sides to agree on a solution formulated by the US. MK Zehava Galon (Meretz) was quoted as saying Monday that senior US officials told her the US offer would be presented in January of 2014. PA sources also cited January as the month in which the US intends to propose, or impose, its plan.

'Palestinian State' Would Leave Israel 'Indefensible'
As negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority continue amid international calls for a 23rd Arab state in the Judea and Samaria (West Bank) region - which would leave Israel with the territory it held prior to the 1967 Six-Day War - familiar calls from within Israel are being heard warning of the "indefensible borders" the Jewish State would be left with in such an eventuality. It is not a new claim. Israel's former Foreign Minister Abba Eban famously referred to the so-called "'67 borders" as "Auschwitz borders," provocatively expressing the fears of many Israelis that a return to the 1949 Armistice lines would leave them perilously vulnerable to attack in a neighborhood which has proven all too often to be hostile to their very presence. But is that really the case? Or, as some critics of Israel claim, are those fears simply unfounded?
