Minister: '7,000 Could be Killed in a Major Earthquake'

Prophecy Sign: A large future earthquake in the land of Israel

We found the following news report of an Israeli government Minister's warning to the Knesset,  to be very interesting.  The Home Front Minister, in referencing all the recent earthquakes in Israel, said that a major earthquake in Israel would potentially kill 7,000 people, (and injuring many more).  This is coincidentally the exact number of people that bible prophecy says will perish during an earthquake in Israel during the coming Tribulation period.
Prophetic utterance on the part of the Israeli MK?  Sure seems like it to us.

Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, "Come up here." And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on. At that very hour there was a severe earthquake and a tenth of the city collapsed. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven. Revelation 11:12-13 NIV

Minister: '7,000 Could be Killed in a Major Earthquake'
Home Front Minister MK Gilad Erdan (Likud) told the Knesset Wednesday that the threat of a major earthquake required all parties in Israel to remain ready for every eventuality. Erdan said that a major earthquake could result in up to 7,000 Israelis losing their lives, with tens of thousands wounded, and as many as 200,000 requiring some kind of assistance. Following six earthquakes in the last week in the north, he said the ministry was aware of the threats to the public and had already planned many training exercises to simulate disaster scenarios, as well as giving courses and distributing information to public institutions.

Yet Another Earthquake - This Time in Eilat
Israel's unusual period of seismic activity continued today (Wednesday), as yet another small earthquake was felt - this time in the southernmost Israeli city of Eilat. Although epicenter of the quake, which registered 3.3. on the Richter Scale, was located in the Egyptian town of Taaba, tremors were registered in the Israeliresort city. No damage or injuriesoccurred. This is the seventh such mini-earthquake in a week, and Israel has been abuzz with speculation as to whether such a rare string of tremors could portend a much larger earthquake.
