Israel fears EU may push for peace in 2013

Prophecy Sign:  The covenant of death - the seven year treaty of peace

While not an interpretation accepted by all bible prophecy scholars, the interpretation of a European born Antichrist who brokers a seven year treaty with Israel is the theory with the most support among the prophecy community.

So when we read an article which reports that the European Union, (soon to be the EU Superstate - complete with an elected President), may attempt to force a peace agreement upon Israel, we sit up and take notice.  If the general consensus interpretation of a European led and brokered middle-east peace deal is the real deal, then we should expect to see more articles relating to Israel, the Middle-East and the European Union.

The other multi-national world organization out there, the United Nations, would be more than happy to see the Europeans broker such a peace deal, which the U.N. would be more than happy to ratify globally.  However as we all know, this European Antichrist brokered deal, (or any other Antichrist nationality), won't be worth the paper its written upon, and will be broken halfway through, (3 1/2 years).

He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven.' In the middle of the 'seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And on a wing [of the temple] he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him." Daniel 9:27 NIV

Israel fears EU may push for peace in 2013

Israel believes that the EU may try to force it and the Palestinian National Authority to reach a peace agreement in 2013, according to a report published in the Israeli daily Haaretz. The report, based on an Israeli foreign ministry document, states that the EU seriously doubts the viability of the peace process in its current format to end the Palestinain-Israeli conflict, and believes that it needs a new format for there to be progress in 2013. According to Haaretz, the report states that the Europeans may try to promote the establishment of an actual Palestinian state independent of negotiations with Israel. The document’s content will be evaluated by the Israeli Foreign Ministry and will be the first document discussed by the Israeli government expected to be formed in January. The Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) expressed the hope that the EU would advance its position and use all the necessary tools to press Israel to accept the requirements for peace.

After upgrading status, UN officially switches from ‘Palestine’ to ‘State of Palestine’

While legislative scholars and political pundits continue to debate the exact meaning of the upgrade of the Palestinians to a nonmember observer state, the United Nations last week officially changed the way it refers to the body: it’s now the “State of Palestine,” as opposed to merely “Palestine.” The name change is based on an opinion by the UN’s legal department, and might not have any practical implications on the ground, Israeli officials say. But on a symbolic level, the decision will likely boost aspirations of Palestinian leaders who hope their newly gained status will help them establish a full-fledged independent state. Immediately after the General Assembly vote to upgrade the Palestinians on November 29, UN officials still opposed Palestinian diplomats’ efforts to independently change “Palestine” to “State of Palestine” in the formal name of their permanent observer mission.
